A Little History
In 1938, on the MSCW (Mississippi State College for Women) campus, 20 college sophomores realized a special bond of friendship existed among them. The fun-loving sophomores locked their hearts in freindship and love calling themselves Lockhearts and wore tiny gold lockets as a symbol of their friendship. Red and White were chosen as the club's colors while the red carnation was selected as the club flower.

Lockhearts became a four-year social club on the MUW campus during the school year of 1961-1962. To this day, they continue traditions that have been set by classes before them.

As one of the oldest clubs on the W campus, the Lockheart social club encourages involvement through hallmarks such as community service projects, leadership in campus organizations, and academic achievement.
