Treble Song Honor Choir
Marianna and Jared and I (Terry) traveled through some terrific thunderstorms yesterday to Jackson, MS to hear Kaite perform in Treble Song All State Honor Choir. Lydia couldn't go since she had a prior commitment to Lockhearts (her social club) for an overnight retreat and David was working on the girls' taxes.
Kaite and eight other girls from the Columbus Girlchoir auditioned and were accepted for the choir; they were sent music in January which they were to learn in preparation for this weekend's rehearsals and performance. The girls went to Jackson on Thursday afternoon and performed Saturday afternoon.
The guest conductor was Rollo Dilworth, an Associate Professor of Music and Director of Choral Activities at North Park University School of Music in Chicago, Ill. Three of the six songs the girls sang were written by him, Jonah, The Dream Keeper, and How Can I Keep From Singing?
It was awesome!
